Sam Bible and I were laughing today about the fact every time he and I go to meet, we always pick a coffee shop that has refused to update their listing. What does that mean for us? Incorrect hours, new ownership, they have moved, or my favorite-the shop has been changed into a coffee shop/hair salon hybrid. (What!?)
We are in Portland so it isn’t hard to find another shop but when you start getting outside of the confines of the East Side and Downtown, pickings start to get slimmer. We are begging you shop owners, don’t fear the update. Updating has never been easier. Just go to Google Places and they will get you going. Here are some shops doing it the right way:
1) Insomnia Coffee Co. They do a great job using social media to promote their events and have a very creative, user-friendly website. Now, if they only had a fireplace, they would be unstoppable!
2) Heart. Ahh simplicity, how we love you.
3) Stumptown. A great website that talkes not only about store hours but the story of who they are and why they do what they do. For Portland, Stumptown is the golden example that all coffee shops strive to follow, and for good reason, they do the best.
