marketing by region

We are starting a new Thursday series talking about companies around the country (and world) that are doing a great job marketing themselves.  Whether it is a print campaign, photography shoot, video content, engaging their customer base using social media, or a great website that reaches out to their market-we will be talking about them.

Today we are going to start right here in the Great Northwest in the city of Portland and talk about a company we have been impressed with because of the way they engage their potential and current clients using social media. Everyone, meet CoCo Designs.

I should start off by saying that one of the things that is really cool about what Lora (owner at CoCo) does is that it is similar to what we do here at Marah, (only in a different market).  She strives to understand her clients so well that when she creates a layout and design, it speaks directly to who they are. You only get this way by creating a relationship with the client and listening to their needs.  She is a brand developer for the home or office!  (Plus she has done work on HGTV, you can’t beat that).  Learn more about her philosophy on her about page.

Lora does an excellent job using Twitter and Facebook to talk with those who follow her.  Check out her Twitter account, she is always updating.  The encouraging part is that she is actually engaging those who are trying to have a conversation with her.  Too often we see companies who use social media to try to get the word out about a product or service but fail to follow up with people who engage them. There is nothing worse then seeing someone ask a question, a client or fan of the organization answers, and then it is like the person who asked the question fell off the face of the earth.  Shame to those who dole out the Getting Facebooked or the dreaded Tweet and Dash – (You know who you are).

Thankfully we do not see that behavior from CoCo Designs and we look forward to following Lora’s career.  Good luck and we’ll see you on HGTV!  Learn more about what Lora does at CoCo Designs.
