Simple Blogging

If you have been blogging for your organization for any length of time you have probably gone through periods where you are not sure what to write about or can’t imagine writing at all.  It’s okay, we all go through it.  Here are a couple of things that have helped me out over the last couple of years:

1.  Save Material.  If you still read the paper or magazines save the stories that you think would make blog topics.  In your browser online, make a folder that is for blog posts so when you run across an article or topic you like you can save it and come back to it at a later date.  This way you will always have topics to draw from on those days when you can’t seem to find your inspiration.

2.  Schedule Posts.  One of the single greatest things to help your blogging I have found is make time in your schedule dedicated to writing blog posts for at least a week a head of time.  Instead of writing one or two posts every day write several posts at a time and them schedule them in whatever blogging platform you use to populate over a period of time.  This has helped me keep up the interest in writing and better schedule my time dedicated to writing.
