Coffee Cups, Makers and Roasts-Portland DNA

The amount of coffee we drink a dayCoffee:  Northwest lifeblood.  Stumptown, Ristretto, Sterling, Sleepy Monk, (and the random cup of Starbucks which no one will admit to).  Portland is one of the most creative places in the United States.  Just about every street corner and every other third home houses some sort of design studio, creative agency, or someone claiming to be a marketing guru.  And coffee shops are the place where all of the roads intersect.

Coffee has played a large roll in the worlds history and has an amazing story.  Cultures have fought for it, people have loved it, and it has been meticulously perfected over time. In Portland this process has become a form of art, and we are first in line to pay the cost of admission.  Over a short period of time we did an informal, internal study to see how many cups of coffee we consume as a group while working on the average project.  It turns out that 12 glorious cups of the caffeinated beverage are consumed on average through out a working day.  Why so many you may ask? Simple.  We love how the projects turn out while on the cup.

Creatives’ in Portland can often be found in shops all over the city.  A trend is growing where instead of leasing office space, people meet and do business in coffee shops.  Maybe it is because Portland receives about 37 inches of rain annually and waiting to do business on the golf course means a timeframe of three weeks and several broken windows.  The repression of the weather forces some great creativity and the coffee shop is the place where these ideas shared.

You might not always find us sharing our ideas in a coffee shop but it is almost certain that at least one of us will be drinking a cup of coffee while we are telling your story.
