Digital storytelling will sell your products and services, it will connect your audience with your brand in a lasting way. If done correctly, a single piece of digital collateral like photography can change the way people perceive your organization. The problem is most organizations don’t take the time to work through a proper marketing strategy, let alone set aside the correct resources to create great photography collateral. Here are some keys to finding a great photographer for your brand:
Check the Portfolio: Any good photographer has an online portfolio these days. Take the time to walk through several different portfolios and find someone who fits the style of photography you desire.
Create the Relationship: Whether you are working with an agency or a freelance photographer, it is important that you create a relationship the organization in which you use. There are a multitude of companies and freelancers out there who will quickly provide you with photography content but it is our experience that unless they understand the your brand and your needs, the content rarely is as good as it could be when that strong relationship is formed.
Trust the Process: You have hired an organization and at some point you need to trust them to do the work that you cannot do. If a good process is set you will be able to express the needs of the project and have the agency or freelancer ask questions in response. When the research is done allow the process to move forward and work for you.
